10.True Grit
Fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross joins an aging U.S. marshal and another lawman in tracking her father’s killer into hostile Indian territory. It is one of those film that is well made with an all-star cast, it also the first main film that star Hailee Steinfeld as she is brilliant as the main lead and the casting is perfect, this is definitely intriguing from start to finish in this superbly made film.
9.Little Women
Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters four young women, each determined to live life on her own terms. Feminism type of film, which is really important in a well-intentioned film, it has got a brilliant cast and overall this film has got a brilliant story and it is likeable, it might not be everyone first choice but it still a well-made film.
8.Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
A substance designed to help the brain repair itself gives advanced intelligent to a chimpanzee who leads an ape uprising. Gorgeous looking film that will keep you hooked from the first frame in this exciting science fiction film, Andy Serkis is excellent with motion capture who play Caesar and overall this film is clever and intelligent, it also made you think and that is the key to this film.
7.The Amazing Spider – Man
After Peter Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider – like powers and ventures out to save the city from the machinations of a mysterious reptilian foe. A thrill ride type of film that is genuinely action packed, it certainly fun and this is suitable for a rainy-day type of film, the villains is totally memorable and it is funny but it also charming as this is watchable.
6.King Kong
Set in the 1930s, this is the story of a group of explorers and documentary filmmakers who travel to the mysterious Skull Island to investigate legends of a giant gorilla named Kong. Firstly the pacing to this film is just perfect, it will hold your interested and this is certainly entertaining and it also got a beautiful love story, that work really well and the CGI/SFX is truly spectacular that will wowed you.
5.Scooby – Doo
After an acrimonious break up, the Mystery Ince gang are individually brought to an island resort to investigate strange goings on. Having been a fan of the cartoon series while I going up and this reboot is actually enjoyable, it is colourful, funny and a fun filled film that brim with comic one liner, it might not be for everyone but if you into live action film this is ideal for you.
4.The Ring
A journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone one week to the day after they view it. Everything about The Ring certainly ticked all the boxes as it is one of those film which is intriguing, it is generally creepy and it will get you under your skin and this is totally unpredictable, the acting is absolutely amazing and this is definitely drawn you in.
3.IT (2017)
In the summer of 1989, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape – shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town. Definitely one of the best psychological horror film which made you think, Bill Skarsgard is brilliant as the clown and the casting is so convincing, this also leaves you a lasting impression on you.
2.Batman Begins
After training with his mentor, Batman begins his fight to free crime – ridden Gotham City from corruption. Certainly one of the best action film as this is character driven with a hint of psychological edge to this film, for me personally it actually work well and the villains is totally memorable, it certainly epic and it is definitely one of the best Christopher Nolan film.
1.Beauty And The Beast
A selfish prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman he keeps prisoner. Being a musical this will capture your imagination and this is pure escapism, the musical set pieces is stunning and full of colour and the casting is spot on, it also a family viewing and it will capture your heart in a good looking and joyous film.
