5.Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

A young fugitive prince and princess must stop a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special dagger that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time. I actually got this film from my public library and I always remember this film, it is entertaining and it got a likeable lead and the story is spot on plus there are amazing set pieces, it is well casted and it didn’t take itself too seriously and that is the key to this film.

4.Prisoners

When Keller Dover’s daughter and her friend go missing, he takes matters into his own hands as the police pursue multiple leads and the pressure mounts. Perfectly paced film and the acting in this film is amazing. It can be too harrowing for some people as this can be really brutal but if you get past that it actually a really good film, the ending is certainly memorable and the whole film in general is totally unpredictable, if you really into your psychological drama this is ideal for you.

3.Everest

The story of New Zealand’s Robert “Rob” Edwin Hall, who on May 10, 1996, together with Scott Fischer, teamed up on a joint expedition to ascend Mount Everest. Generally powerful and this is a character driven type of film, it also got a great cast and it will leaves you a lasting impression on you as this is sincere, this also based on a true story and it certainly pay respect to those people who inspires this film, the scenery looks wonderful and it drawn you in from the start.

2.The Day After Tomorrow

Jack Hall, paleoclimatologist, must make a daring trek from Washington, DC. To New York City to reach his son, trapped in the cross – hairs of a sudden international storm which plunges the planet into a new Ice Age. Definitely one of the best disasters film as this is fun and the CGI/SFX is truly spectacular, it might be too predictable for some people but it also got likeable characters in this film and it didn’t itself too seriously, this is certainly entertaining from start to finish.

1.Strange World

The legendary Clades are a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest and most crucial mission. Personally I don’t get the hate for this film as this got a simple to follow story, the moral is the important of family and it also deals with the gender aspects and that work really well, it is heartwarming and the characters are great and the vocal in this film is spot on, it also suitable for all ages and a family viewing type of film and this is enjoyable.

  1. Jake Gyllenhaal wasn’t a name I was familiar with but on checking IMDB I have found that I have seen 3 films he was in.
    1. Nocturnal Animals – a film both of us would rather forget.
    2. Donnie Darko – a cult classic about time travel
    3. City Slickers – a great comedy in which he appeared as a child.

  2. That is the reason why I didn’t put in Nocturnal Animals on that list as it was a massive disappointed for both of us, I will definitely checking out Donnie Darko and City Slickers.
