5.Pinocchio (Netflix)

A father’s wish magically brings a wooden boy to life in Italy, giving him a chance to care for the child. However, the two of them have to struggle to find a place for themselves as Italy becomes embroiled in fascism. Gorgeous looking film that will draw you in as this film got great and memorable characters, the story is beautiful and I really admire this film as it try to be something different. It is one of those film that is easy to follow but it might be rather dark for the younger generation, I know Ewan McGregor have got a smaller role in this film but the vocal in this film is superb, overall if you wanted something different you should give this film a chance.

4.Stormbreaker

After the death of his uncle, the 14-year-old schoolboy Alex Rider is forced by the Special Operation Division of the UK’s secret intelligence service M16, into a mission which will save millions of lives. Firstly I know Ewan McGregor have a smaller role in this film, this will definitely divided people as some will like this and some don’t but it has got an all–star cast. This also got amazing set pieces and this is entertaining from start to finish, it is action packed and it never loses the story and that is the key to this film and the main lead is likeable, this is definitely suitable for a rainy-day type of film.

3.Robots

In a robot world, a young idealistic inventor travels to the big city to join his inspiration’s company, only to find himself opposing its sinister new management. Funny and heartwarming animation film which basically about chasing your dream, I can connect with that message and this is a well-made film plus the vocal in this film is excellent and brim with comic one liner. This is suitable for all ages and a family viewing as this got an easy-to-follow story and it is charming and often moving, it might be predictable for some people and it not for cynical type of people, but this is generally heartfelt and the intention is there.

2.Beauty And The Beast

A Selfish prince is cursed to become a monster for the rest of his life, unless he learns to fall in love with a beautiful young woman he keeps prisoner. With amazing CGL/SFX that is eye catching and this is pure escapism, the musical element is truly spectacular and this film in general is certainly memorable. It has got catchy tunes and the acting is amazing and this is gorgeous looking film that will draw you in, it definitely suitable for a rainy day and this is pure escapism.

1.The Impossible

The story of a tourist family in Thailand caught in the destruction and chaotic aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. One of the most powerful films that will touch people heart and this can be heartbreaking, the acting is absolutely amazing and this doesn’t feel forced or too sentimental as it is silently powerful, it also about hope and never giving up and I personally connect to that message. It got stunning scenery and this automatically draw you in straight away, the pacing is perfect as it certainly holds your interest. It might be depressing for some people but this is superbly made and this will wow you.

  1. As usual I’m going to go further back, and I prefer his earlier films anyway.
    1. Shallow Grave (1994) – also starring Christopher Eccleston and directed by Danny Boyle.
    2. Trainspotting (1996) – created a style all of its own. Also directed by Danny Boyle. Great soundtrack.
    3. Brassed Off (1996) – Great story and full of great actors, especially Pete Postlethwaite.
    4. Little Voice (1998) – Another great story and great cast – Michael Caine, Brenda Blethyn.
    5. Moulin Rouge (2001) – Directed by Baz Luhrmann

  2. That’s fair and that sometimes happen with a certain film stars, all of your reccomendation sounded really good and I definitely watching out for these films
