5.Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England. I haven’t watch this film for ages. The story and the casting are spot on, it can be funny in places and the pacing is superb, it certainly holds your interest, the set pieces are exciting; this is entertaining from start to finish, if you wanted a fun period action film this is ideal for you.
4.Spotlight
The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover – up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core. With an all stars cast which they all convince in their roles. It certainly inspires those people behind this film as this is based on a true story, this got twist and turn throughout this film, it certainly draws you in from start to finish, overall this is pretty good film.
3.Doctor Strange
While on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts. Another film which I haven’t watch for ages. The set pieces are amazing as this is entertaining, It might be action packed but it never loses the story itself, the CGI/SFX is truly outstanding and the acting is superb, this is fun and pure escapism.
2.About Time
Like all the men in his family, Tim Lake possesses the power to travel in time. With the advice of his father, he uses his special ability to pursue his romantic interest, Mary. Not your unusual rom com and that is refreshing. It does deal with some science fiction of time travel, this is quietly powerful and it will move you, it never feels too sentimental or too forced and that is the key, it will surprise many people with this film as the ending is beautiful.
1.Morning Glory
An upstart television producer accepts the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show program with warring co – host. Some people will like this and some don’t as this will divide people. It might be predictable but this is charming and heartfelt at the same time, this is perfectly watchable as this is inoffensive, it is a feel – good film, this is surprisingly good.
