My Old Ass
A mushroom trip brings free – spirited Elliott face – to – face with her 39-year-old self. But when Elliott’s “old ass” delivers warnings to her younger self, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about her family, life and love. Firstly I like the story to this film and the acting is pretty good. Those are the positives; it doesn’t leave you a lasting impression on you, too be honest with you I couldn’t get into with this film, it not as uplifting or inspirational; I don’t want to be too harsh on this film as the idea is there, it has got some potential with the coming-of-age aspect, it didn’t quite deliver.
Begin Again
A chance encounter between a down – and – out music business executive, and a young singer songwriter new to Manhattan, turns into a promising collaboration between the two talents. Underdog and joyous type of film which you needed. The acting is convincing and totally believable, but unfortunately it doesn’t offer you anything new or fresh, it is too predictable and you can guess the ending; despite that the song itself is quietly powerful, overall this film is perfectly watchable from start to finish.
The Forgotten Battle
In WWII’s final years, a soldier in the German army, a British glider pilot, and a Dutch resistance fighter’s path intertwines. Their choices shape destinies, impacting not only their freedom but also that of others. A film with a good cast which they all convince in their roles. The story is pretty good as the pacing is there, the flashback elements get too overcomplicated as it hard to keep up with the film itself, it hasn’t got the psychological aspect and it doesn’t creep you under your skin, despite that this film is well – made.
Love Me (2024)
A post – apocalyptic romance in which a buoy and a satellite meet online and fall in love after the end of human civilization. It might not be for everyone but at least it tries to be something different. This is certainly memorable from start to finish, it’s the idea behind this film which is brilliant, the film itself does falters and it didn’t leave you a lasting impression on you, if you wanted something different this is ideal for you.
Blinded By The Light
In England in 1987, a teenager from an Asian family learns to live his life, understand his family and find his own voice through the music of American rock star Bruce Springsteen. Beautiful coming of age film which capture people heart. The final third of this film is quietly powerful, I connect with this film with the personal journey aspect, it can feel a little safe and it doesn’t gel or flow together as much, despite that this is watchable.

While caring for her brother along with her audacious mother, a teenager strikes up a friendship with an eccentric activist who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time. Real, honest and relatable film that will touch people heart. it is sad but uplifting film at the same time, the acting is amazing as they all convince in their roles, it is silently powerful without being too sentimental, it nearly perfect but I just feel it didn’t quite gel but it still leave you a lasting impression on you.
